Klarna Checkout makes it easy, flexible, and secure for you to shop online. By answering a few questions, you can easily verify your identity and choose the payment method that works best for you.
A key feature of Klarna Checkout is that we separate the purchase from the payment. First, you confirm your purchase, and then you choose how you want to pay. The payment methods available to you may vary from store to store, but also depend on our credit assessment. However, the most common payment methods are invoice, installment plan, credit card, bank transfer, or other direct payment methods. All are equally secure.
By entering or requesting information in Klarna Checkout, you agree to our Terms of Use and our use of your personal data as described below.
Klarna Checkout Terms of Use
By using Klarna Checkout, you agree to the terms and conditions of Klarna AB (publ) (556737-0431, Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm), “Klarna,” as set forth below, including any attachments or other referenced materials (“the Terms”). By entering or requesting information, you begin using Klarna Checkout. By doing so, you also consent to our processing of your personal data, including our ability to transfer the data to third parties or for processing outside the EU/EEA. To use Klarna Checkout, you must be at least 15 years old.
Identification, Verification, and Risk Assessment
To securely identify you and prevent unauthorized use or misuse of Klarna Checkout, as well as to comply with the requirements of sound credit practices, Klarna needs to verify your identity. Klarna collects additional information such as your social security number, name, and address, as well as—when you select a credit option—credit information from various providers. Klarna also needs to use the information you may have provided during previous purchases, publicly available information on the internet, and information about how you have previously met our payment terms to perform a risk assessment. Klarna Checkout automatically adapts the risk assessment—and thus the design of the service—each time you use the service, and you do not need to provide more information than is necessary. In some cases, a previously provided address that has been approved by Klarna will be displayed to you as soon as you enter your email address and ZIP code. The approved address may only be used to pre-fill address information directly in connection with a purchase. By completing the purchase, you confirm your identity and the correct shipping address.
Payment, Fees
Klarna Checkout displays the payment options available to you. Current payment options that may be offered through Klarna Checkout include invoice, installment payments, card payment, or direct bank transfer. Invoice is the default payment option where available. When paying by invoice, Klarna’s current invoice terms and conditions apply; currently, this includes a 14-day credit period, and a late payment fee will be charged if payment is not made. If your purchase total is less than 60 SEK, a late payment fee of 29.00 SEK will be charged; if your purchase total is 60 SEK or more, a late payment fee of 60.00 SEK will be charged. A late payment interest rate of 24% plus the reference rate set by the Riksbank at any given time also applies. There is no charge for using Klarna Checkout. However, taxes or fees may apply depending on the payment option you select; please review the specific payment terms for the option you choose. Klarna may add or remove one or more of the payment options offered in Klarna Checkout at any time.
For most payment methods, when you complete a purchase via Klarna Checkout, you and Klarna enter into an agreement in which Klarna, among other things, guarantees that you won’t have to pay if you don’t receive your goods. At the same time, Klarna reimburses the store for your purchase and thereby assumes the right to receive payment. Regardless of which payment method you choose, your payment is therefore used to settle the debt owed to Klarna. However, you may be offered other payment methods in Klarna Checkout (such as Swish), where Klarna does not assume the claim from the store; instead, your payment is settled directly with the seller. Even in these cases, your purchase will still be covered by Klarna’s buyer protection.
Use
Klarna is the owner of all rights to Klarna Checkout. As a user, you may only use the service for its intended purpose—to make purchases—until further notice and in accordance with the applicable Terms and Conditions. If you have previously shopped using Klarna Checkout and thereby provided your address, your address will be automatically pre-filled as soon as you enter your email address and ZIP code. You can opt out of this feature at any time by sending an email to dataskydd@klarna.se or by selecting that option directly in Klarna Checkout.

You represent and warrant that the information you provide is accurate and belongs to you, and that you are free to enter into agreements without restriction and without the consent of a guardian, trustee, or any other person.

The user may be barred from further use of Klarna Checkout.
